Introduction
The Russian minor offers an interdisciplinary curriculum including language, cinema, literature, history, and geography. It is designed to introduce students to the rich cultural traditions of Russia and countries of the former Soviet Union, since Russian remains the lingua franca among many countries of this region. A working knowledge of Russian is an asset in a variety of majors (International Studies, Journalism, Political Science-Global Politics track, Comparative Literature, to name a few) and can improve your job prospects whether in business, travel and tourism, journalism, translation, publishing, or in U.S. government agencies.
Scholarships for study abroad available.
