The Bachelor of Arts in Dance provides students with a balanced course of study that helps to prepare them for graduate study in dance in addition to a range of careers in dance and dance-related fields.

Student Learning Outcomes
- Majors will demonstrate competency in modern dance, ballet, jazz, and hip hop, enabling them to pursue careers in dance and dance-related fields such as dance education, studio-based teaching, performance/choreography, and health and fitness.
- Majors will describe historical, socio-cultural, and scientific dimensions of dance.
- Majors will practice the fundamental skills and techniques necessary for the public performance of dance.
- Majors will demonstrate skills in the production and technological aspects of dance.
- Majors will analyze and describe the craft and aesthetic qualities of dance orally, practically, and in writing.
Dance Core (23 Units)

Take 9 units from the following: Production Crew (2 units)
Take all of the following: Performance (1 unit)
Take one of the following: Core Technique (8 units)
Take all of the following: Additional Technique (4 units)
Take 4 units from the following with at least 2 units at the Upper Division: Technique Electives (5 units)
Take 5 units from the following: (Each course may be applied only once) Upper Division Dance Electives (3 units)
Take 3 units from the following: Upper Division GE Writing Intensive (3 units)
