Economics Minor

The Minor in Economics is available to any non-Economics or non-Business Economics major.

A minimum of 18 units which must include:

Lower Division:

Complete each of the following courses with a grade of “C” or better:

ECON 100 - Principles of Macroeconomics (3 units)
ECON 101 - Principles of Microeconomics (3 units)

Note(s):

Students with upper division standing declaring the minor may substitute ECON 300 for ECON 100 and ECON 101 with departmental consent.

Complete one of the following courses with a grade of “C” or better:

MATH 115 - Calculus for Business (3 units)
MATH 119A - Survey of Calculus I (3 units)
MATH 122 - Calculus I (4 units)

Upper Division:

Complete each of the following courses with grades of “C” or better:

ECON 310 - Microeconomic Theory (3 units)
ECON 311 - Macroeconomic Theory (3 units)

Take at least one additional upper division elective economics course.

The following courses may not be taken as upper division electives in economics:

ECON 300 - Fundamentals of Economics (3 units)
ECON 495 - Field Studies Practicum (3 units)
ECON 499 - Directed Study (1-3 units)
