SPAN 525 - Teaching Spanish as a Heritage Language in the United States (3 Units)
Prerequisite(s): Graduate Standing. Prepares language teachers to work with heritage language speakers (students who speak a language other than English at home), with particular emphasis on Spanish speakers. Topics include: heritage grammars, the linguistic and social characteristics that shape heritage languages in the United States, and pedagogical methods and approaches for teaching heritage languages.
