MAE 798 - Doctoral Dissertation (1-12 units)
Prerequisite: Enrollment is limited to students formally admitted to the Ph.D. program in Engineering and Computational Mathematics who have passed the preliminary examinations and research tool tests on completion of at least 48 units of course work. A written dissertation proposal containing an outline of the research to be undertaken must be submitted with references to relevant source material. Consultation with the respective program’s graduate advisor and permission of faculty supervisor are required. Student may only embark upon the doctoral dissertation after having received a positive recommendation. Letter grade only (A-F). Submission of an Agreement for Independent Study form as a contract for the project and an Advanced Directed Research permission form are required each semester of enrollment. Students must enroll in a minimum of 4 units per semester. May be repeated to a maximum of 12 units in different semesters.
