BME 410 - Biomedical Image Processing (3 units)
Prerequisite: BME 304 with a grade of “C” or better. Principles of imaging modalities in radiology: X-ray, Computed Tomography, Ultrasound imaging, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Principles of wave propagation, transmission, reflection, refraction, attenuation, absorption, scattering, acoustic impedance. Ultrasound transducers. Principles of light. Specific application in Mammography and angiography.
Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture 2 hours, laboratory 3 hours)
