CRJU 623 - Correctional Environments (3 units)
Prerequisite: Open to Criminology & Criminal Justice master’s students only who have taken CRJU 501 , CRJU 504 , CRJU 520 , or graduate advisor permission, and consent of instructor. An introduction to American penology through six all-day field trips to city, county, state, and federal correctional facilities. Includes observations of juvenile court proceedings and visits to county juvenile halls, a juvenile treatment facility, and a state youthful offender institution.
Letter grade only (A-F). May be repeated to a maximum of 6 units in different semesters. Full-day field trips are required. Double Numbered with: CRJU 423
