MATH 249 - Linear Algebra and Differential Equations (3 units)
Prerequisite: MATH 123 with a grade of “C” or better. A course in computer programming is required with a grade of “C” or better. Elementary linear algebra and ordinary differential equations (ODEs): first and second order linear differential equations, linear systems of ODEs, phase portraits, graphical and numerical methods for differential equations. Matrix algebra, systems of linear equations, linear independence, determinants, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Fourier and Laplace transforms. Implementation of algorithms in Matlab.
Letter grade only (A-F) (Lecture 2 hours, laboratory/problem session 3 hours).
