MAE 476H - Mechanical Control Systems I (3 units)
Prerequisite: MAE 376 with a grade of “C” or better. Feedback control systems in mechanical engineering. Modeling, analysis, and design. System performance and design criteria: stability, transient response, frequency response and compensation, root locus. Introduction to nonlinear control systems, state space analysis and design.
Letter grade only (A-F). Additional assignments/projects adding depth to the course materials required for Engineering Honors students. (Lecture-problems 2 hours, laboratory 3 hours) MAE 476H is open only to students in the Engineering Honors Program. Not open for credit to students with credit in MAE 476 .
