CLSC 350 - Hollywood Does Rome (3 units)
Prerequisites: CLSC 100 or CLSC 101 or CLSC 202 or consent of instructor. Investigation of filmmakers’ motives and methods used to portray ancient Romans from the beginnings of cinema to the present. Topics include ‘imaging’ the past, ‘power’ of image, community and society, cultural imperialism, film theory, ‘language’ of myth, and reception theory.
Same course as FEA 350 . Not open for credit to students with credit in FEA 350 .
