C E 445 - Introduction to Foundation Engineering

(3 units)

Prerequisites: C E 345  with a grade of “C” or better.
Design of shallow and deep foundation structures. Site investigation and evaluation of soil conditions. Soil and strength evaluation. Bearing capacity and settlement theory and calculations.

Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture-Problems 3 hours)
