Prerequisites: Upper-division standing and ANTH 351 or consent of instructor. Examines anthropological perspectives on gender and how these perspectives have challenged and transformed anthropology and feminism; class will locate gender relations in the production of anthropological knowledge, in colonial and postcolonial social fields, and in the movement of global capitalism.
