CEM 204H - Applied Mechanics-Statics (3 units)
Prerequisites: MATH 122 and PHYS 100A or PHYS 151 all with a grade of “C” or better. Engineering Honors Program track I or track II. Provides an overview of the principles of statics as it relates to building structures and machines. Equilibrium of forces. Free body diagrams. Force components. Bending moments. U.S. and S.I. units of measurements.
Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture 2 hours, Activity 2 hours) Same course as CEM 204. CEM 204H is open only to students in the Engineering Honors Program. Additional assignments/projects adding depth to the course materials required for Engineering Honors students. Not open for credit to students with credit in CEM 204. Not repeatable for credit.
