H SC 735 - Comparative Global Healthcare Delivery Systems (3 units)
Prerequisites: Completion of the DrPH core courses and/or the consent of the instructor. The focus of this course is on equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare systems around the world, including analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of selected country’s health care systems, health care reform efforts, public health programs that improve the health status of the population and compare them with the health care system in the United States. This course will also prepare the students to develop global level assessment of a health issue in a developing country, plan intervention to alleviate that country’s health crisis situation and develop an evaluation tool to measure the success of the intervention and its sustainability.
Letter grade only (A-F). Not repeatable for credit.
