GEOG 180 - Maps and Statistics (3 units)
Prerequisite: Knowledge of mathematical procedure usually covered in elementary high school algebra, eligibility for GE math.
Recommended for additional math support: GEOG 90 (support course for non-math-ready students per CSU Executive Order 1110 (2017) Introduces statistical concepts through geographic data and applications of Geographic Information Science (GIS). Students learn quantitative reasoning by analyzing spatial patterns such as population, climate, hazards, and urban issues and communicate results with tables, graphs, and maps. Emphasizes real-world problem solving and ethical decision-making across disciplines.
Both grading options. (3 hours lecture) Not repeatable for credit.
