SOC 471 - Perspectives in Disability Studies

This course provides an overview of perspectives from Disability Studies as an interdisciplinary field that explores disability as a social, cultural, historical, and political construct, rather than simply a medical condition or “problem.” Emphasis is placed on literary and cultural analysis, complemented by sociological perspectives on how disability is represented, understood, and contested across contexts.

Letter grade only (A-F). Same course as CWL 471 Not repeatable for credit.
