CHIN 586 - Chinese Martial Arts Literature in Translation (3 units)
Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing Through martial arts literature from the Han Dynasty (202 BCE - 220 CE) to the 20th century, this course examines how these works reveal social morals and ethics, gender norms, political relationship, and class distinctions in Chinese society throughout the history.
Letter grade only (A-F). Students in CHIN 486 can take the course for Credit/No Credit or a Letter Grade (A-F). Students in CHIN 586 must take the course for a Letter Grade (A-F). (3 hours per week) Not repeatable for credit. Double Numbered with: CHIN 486
