EMER 401 - Advanced Concepts in Emergency Management and Homeland Security

Prerequisite: EMER 301 or instructor consent.

 
This course explores advanced concepts in emergency management and homeland security with a focus on governance of disaster response and recovery, defense support for civil authority, protection of critical infrastructure and transportation systems, border security, and public health. By integrating theoretical perspectives with policy frameworks and practical applications, the course engages students in case studies and other scholarly projects that foster analytical skills and promote high level understanding of complex and dynamic challenges.
