EDEL 482A - Student Teaching in Diverse Classrooms

Prerequisite: Advancement to Student Teaching.
Corequisite(s): EDEL 483.
Prerequisite(s)/Corequisite(s): Submission of complete application to student teach by the deadline and approval for advancement to student teaching by the MSCP Coordinator. Department Consent Required.

Teacher candidates complete two 8-week student teaching assignments over 16 weeks in diverse public schools, gradually transitioning from assisting and co-teaching with a cooperating teacher to solo teaching, supported by a university mentor through regular meetings and observations.

Credit/No Credit; equivalent of “A” or “B” for credit. Course fee may be required. (Approximately 8 hours per week.)
