COMM 131 - Essentials of Argumentation (3 units)
Lecture: Explore the theories of argumentation, focusing on various forms and sources of evidence, inductive and deductive reasoning, the creation of case briefs, and techniques for effective refutation. This course emphasizes the foundational principles of effective argumentation and debate, equipping students with the skills to construct, present, and analyze arguments critically.
Workshop: Cultivate your critical thinking skills through structured exercises and speeches that involve constructing and presenting arguments, building compelling cases, and engaging in refutation.
