CHEM 220A - Organic Chemistry I (3 units)
Prerequisites: CHEM 111B or CHEM 112B with a grade of “C” or better. Corequisites: CHEM 224A is required for students repeating course. CHEM 223A must be taken concurrently if required by a degree plan. First semester of two-semester organic chemistry lecture and laboratory sequence (CHEM 220A, CHEM 220B lectures: and CHEM 223A, CHEM 223B, or CHEM 320). The sequence meets the requirements of health professions and graduate school applicants needing a two-semester organic chemistry sequence with laboratory. The course applies modern principles of structure, physical properties, reactivity, and synthesis to the study of carbon-based molecules.
Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture 3 hrs.) Not open to students with credit in CHEM 320A or CHEM 322A.
