SDHE 516 - Counseling and Adult Development: Theory & Practice

Prerequisite: SDHE 513 and SDHE 521. Must be a current student enrolled in Counseling, Student Development in Higher Education Master’s Program.
Examination of adult learners in postsecondary contexts. Overview of adult learning and development literature and theory, with focus on diverse identities, critical theories, and equity perspectives. Emphasis on case management and counseling skills in practice through adult dialogue project.

Letter grade only (A-F). Course fee may be required. 6 hours of practicum required. Not open for credit to students with credit in EDP 516/COUN 516.
