Global Migration Studies Minor

The Minor in Global Migration Studies is an interdisciplinary program to provide students with an understanding of migration’s causes, effects, and impacts and a critical framework for migrant’s experiences. The core represents courses that survey key topics and conceptual frameworks, including a global focus on migration (I/ST 320), transnationalism (ANTH 444), and immigrant integration (SOC 358). Electives provide students with more focused study of particular experiences of migration.

Study abroad coursework or internships may be substituted by the program director for elective coursework.

Courses used to meet the certificate requirement may, where applicable, also be used simultaneously to meet General Education requirements or the major and minor requirements of cooperating departments.
