Requirements
The Religious Study major of 36 units is organized into three areas of study: A. Culture, Gender, and Ethics; and B. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam and their Precursors; and C. Indigenous, Hindu, Buddhist, and other Asian Traditions. Additionally, students must take three core courses: R/ST 100, 302, and 401.
Students must take all three core courses (9 units).
Area Courses:
Students must take a minimum of 12 units from the following three (A, B, and C) categories, with at least 3 units in each.

B. Judaism, Christianity, Islam and their Precursors:
C. Indigenous, Hindu, Buddhist, and other Asian Traditions:
Elective (not an Area Course):
Take 15 more units from any R/ST categories A,B, or C, or from the following CLA elective courses.

** When the subject matter of a special topics or directed studies course is applicable, the course may be used in the appropriate category.
