Requirements

Lower Division Core:

Complete each of the following courses with a grade of “C” or better:

ECON 100 - Principles of Macroeconomics (3 units)
ECON 101 - Principles of Microeconomics (3 units)

Note(s):

Students with upper division standing declaring Economics as a major may substitute ECON 300 for ECON 100 and ECON 101 .

Complete one of the following courses with a grade of “C” or better:

MATH 115 - Calculus for Business (3 units)
MATH 119A - Survey of Calculus I (3 units)
MATH 122 - Calculus I (4 units)

Upper Division Core:

Complete each of the following courses with grades of “C” or better:

ECON 310 - Microeconomic Theory (3 units)
ECON 311 - Macroeconomic Theory (3 units)
ECON 380 - Economic Statistics (4 units)

Upper Division Electives:

Complete six additional upper-division courses in Economics, of which at least two must be at the 400 level (excluding ECON 300 , ECON 406, ECON 495 , ECON 499 , and C/LA 492).
Up to three units of C/LA 492 and ECON 406 may be used in place of a 300-level Economics course.

Note:

All courses used to satisfy Economics degree requirements must be taken for a letter grade. Courses used to satisfy degree requirements for the B.A. in Economics may not, at the same time, be used to also satisfy degree requirements for the B.A. in Business Economics or the B.A. in Economics Option in Mathematical Economics and Economic Theory.
