California​ Speech-Language Pathology Service Credential

A Master of Art’s Degree from CSULB fulfills the academic and clinical requirements for the California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential (SLPC). This credential authorizes the individual to work as an itinerant speech-language pathologist in the California public schools. The required graduate-level course SLP 686A  , entitled Public School Practicum in Speech-Language Pathology, was designed for students to fulfill the requirements toward attaining the SLPC. As part of the course, a minimum of 120 of the recommended ASHA 375 supervised clock hours must be completed in the public schools. The hours must be supervised by persons holding the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology and the Clinical Rehabilitative Services Credential or the SLPSC.
