Requirements

A minimum of 18 units, 6 must be upper division (300- and 400-level courses), taken from each of the following areas:

Music Theory - 2 units:

MUS 140 - Basic Music Theory (2 units)
or
Other theory course by advisement

Music History - 3 units minimum selected from:

MUS 190 - Listener’s Approach to Music (3 units)
MUS 290 - Popular Music in America (3 units)
MUS 490 - Introduction to Music Cultures (3 units)

Applied Music - 2 units minimum selected from:

MUS 120A - Class Piano (1 unit)
or
MUS 120B - Class Piano (1 unit)
