Environmental Science and Policy Minor

This minor may be combined with any major at CSULB except the B.A. and B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy. It requires a minimum of 18-19 units (at least 9 of which must be upper division) of course work.

Requirements

Complete ONE of the following courses (3-4 units total):

ERTH 102 - Planet Earth (3 units)
and
ERTH 104 - Planet Earth Lab (1 unit)
GEOG 130 - Geography of Weather and Climate (4 units)
GEOG 140 - Introduction to Physical Geography (3 units)
ES P 101 - The Global Environment (3 units)
BIOL 200 - General Biology (4 units)
ECON 101 - Principles of Microeconomics (3 units)

Complete ALL of the following courses (6 units total):

ES P 200 - California Environmental Issues (3 units)
ES P 350 - Environmental Politics (3 units)
OR
ES P 450 - Environmental Sustainability and Social Justice (3 units)

Complete a minimum of 9 units of Environmental Science and Policy Sustainability Electives

Complete at least 9 units from the following:

AIS 336 - Indigenous Philosophies of Sustainability (3 units)
ASAM 350 - Environmental Justice (3 units)
BIOL 459 - Conservation Biology (3 units)
DESN 268 - History and Theory of Sustainability in Design (3 units)
ENGL 444 - Literature and Environment (3 units)
ENGR 302 - Energy and Environment: A Global Perspective (3 units)
ES P 350 - Environmental Politics (3 units)
ES P 392 - Climate Action and Sustainability at CSULB (3 units)
ES P 450 - Environmental Sustainability and Social Justice (3 units)
Students may choose to take GEOG 450 instead of ES P 450.
GEOG 355 - International Environmental Issues (3 units)
GEOG 464 - Urban Geography: Sustainable Cities (3 units)
ERTH 300 - Earth Systems and Global Change (3 units)
HM 370 - Exploring a Sustainable Food System (3 units)
WGSS 424 - Gendering Environmental Justice (3 units)
