Theatre Arts, B.A.

(120 units)

The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts provides opportunities to gain exposure and expertise across a broad range of highly transferable skills in the dramatic arts. The curriculum includes study in traditional and contemporary areas including Acting, Design and Technical Crafts, Theatre History, Literature and Criticism, Directing, and Playwriting.

Students have opportunities to direct, design, act, and assist in all areas with the student-run Theatre Threshold, and the professionally modeled California Repertory Company.

Requirements

Theatre Arts Core

Take all of the following courses:

THEA 103 - Text Analysis (3 units)
THEA 114A - Fundamentals of Acting (3 units)
THEA 221 - History of Theatre and Drama to 1660 (3 units)
THEA 222 - History of Theatre and Drama Since 1660 (3 units)
THEA 327 - Theatre, Protest, and Social Change (3 units)
THEA 374 - Fundamentals of Directing (3 units)
THEA 426 - Dramatic Theory and Criticism (3 units)

Take 1 of the following courses:
