Statistics Minor

Requirements

The Minor in Statistics is available to any student not majoring in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The student must complete 27 units as follows:

Take all of the following courses:

MATH 122 - Calculus I (4 units)
For MATH 122, a “C” or better is required.
MATH 123 - Calculus II (4 units)
For MATH 123, a “C” or better is required.
MATH 224 - Calculus III (4 units)
MATH 247 - Introduction to Linear Algebra (3 units)
MATH 380 - Probability and Statistics (3 units)
For MATH 380, a “C” or better is required.
STAT 381 - Mathematical Statistics (3 units)

Take any two of the following:

STAT 410 - Applied Regression Analysis (3 units)
STAT 450 - Applied Multivariate Statistical Analysis (3 units)
STAT 471 - Introduction to R Programming (3 units)
STAT 473 - Statistical Machine Learning (3 units)
STAT 479 - Applied Neural Networks and Deep Learning (3 units)
STAT 491 - Statistical Modeling in Epidemiology (3 units)
