American Sign Language (ASL) and American Deaf Culture Minor

Students will focus on acquisition of American Sign Language (ASL) and American Deaf Cultures in order to gain linguistic and cultural competence in community interactions.

Requirements

Lower Division (18 units)

Take three of the following courses:

ASLD 202 - American Sign Language 4 (4 units)

Upper Division (6-7 units)

Take the following course:

ASLD 424 - Global Deaf Cultures and Languages (3 units)

ASLD 305 - ASL Literature and Poetry (4 units)
ASLD 306 - American Sign Language Linguistics (3 units)

ASLD 490 - Special Topics in ASL Linguistics and Deaf Cultures (1-6 units)
