CaliforniaSpeech-Language Pathology Service Credential
A Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from CSULB fulfills the academic and clinical requirements for the California Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential (SLPSC). This credential authorizes the individual to work as a speech-language pathologist, providing services related to speech and language and special education services to individuals with language and speech impairments across the special education disability areas, to students from preschool through age 22. The required graduate-level course, SLP 686A , titled Public School Practicum in Speech-Language Pathology, is designed for students to fulfill the requirements toward attaining the SLPSC. As required by the course, a minimum of 120 of the recommended ASHA 375 supervised clock hours must be completed in public schools. The hours must be supervised by persons holding the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology and SLPSC.
