Spanish Minor

Requirements
A minimum of 18 to 34 units in Spanish depending on language competency, at least 15 of which must be upper division.
Language Competency: students must achieve intermediate competency in Spanish equivalent to SPAN 200, 201B or SPAN 250 prior to enrolling in upper division coursework. The total number of lower-division units depends on the student’s existing language competency and can range from 0 to 16 units depending on placement. Students should consult with the undergraduate advisor regarding demonstration of existing language competency.

Students must file a Declaration of Minor and receive counseling from the undergraduate advisors. The minor in Spanish is available to any non-Spanish major. N.B.: No course used to satisfy any requirement for the Minor in Spanish may be taken on a Credit/No Credit basis.
