Career Possibilities
- Design equipment and devices, such as artificial internal organs, replacements for body parts, and machines for diagnosing medical problems
- Install, adjust, maintain, repair, or provide technical support for biomedical equipment
- Evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical equipment
- Train clinicians and other personnel on the proper use of equipment
- Work with scientists to apply engineering principles to biological systems

Advisory Board
The Biomedical Engineering Advisory Council (BAC) plays a vital role in guiding our BME program to national prominence and ensuring the highest quality of education and career opportunities for our students. This council is comprised of corporate, business and community leaders. BAC members advocate the department’s strategic vision and priorities to internal and external audiences; provide guidance, and insight in developing goals and meeting accreditation requirements; and make provisions for initiating new programs and establishing best practices. Undergraduate Degree Programs
The degree in Biomedical Engineering focuses on Biomechanics, Bioinstrumentation, Biofluids, Biomaterials, Bioinformatics and Computational Biomedicine.
Students will receive a comprehensive education in biomedical engineering and sciences and will be able to communicate effectively. They will be able to design equipment and devices that meet performance, cost, time, safety, quality, regulatory and compliance requirements. They will understand professional responsibilities and will be able to analyze the social and ethical implications of their work.
