Advisory Board

The Biomedical Engineering Advisory Council (BAC) plays a vital role in guiding our BME program to national prominence and ensuring the highest quality of education and career opportunities for our students. This council is comprised of corporate, business and community leaders. BAC members advocate the department’s strategic vision and priorities to internal and external audiences; provide guidance, and insight in developing goals and meeting accreditation requirements; and make provisions for initiating new programs and establishing best practices. An updated list of BAC members on the department’s website.

Undergraduate Degree Programs

The degree in Biomedical Engineering focuses on Biomechanics, Bioinstrumentation, Biofluids, Biomaterials, Bioinformatics and Computational Biomedicine.

Students will receive a comprehensive education in biomedical engineering and sciences and will be able to communicate effectively. They will be able to design equipment and devices that meet performance, cost, time, safety, quality, regulatory and compliance requirements. They will understand professional responsibilities and will be able to analyze the social and ethical implications of their work.
