Provides a survey of the rituals and practices of the religions of the ancient Mediterranean in social, political, cultural, and mythographic contexts. Covers the essentials of Greco-Roman polytheism and neighboring/related spiritual systems, including the religions of the Ancient Near East, classical/Second Temple Judaism, early Christianity, Celtic spirituality, and Hellenistic-era Egypt.
