LING 310 - Morphology of English
(3 units)
Prerequisites: LING 170 or ANTH 170 .
Provides an analytical, linguistic approach to the morphological structure of English academic and technical vocabulary as well as an overview of theory and methodology related to vocabulary acquisition. Learners develop skills for recognizing Greek and Latin morphs in English words, their derived allomorphic forms, their classical and current semantic meanings, facilitating the acquisition of specialized English words used in legal, medical, and scientific domains.
