Prerequisites: GEOL 102; CHEM 111A
Morphological and structural crystallography, crystal structure, chemistry, classification, origin, occurrence, and association of minerals. Analysis and identification of minerals by megascopic, qualitative, chemical, and instrumental means.

Both grading options. (Lecture 2 hrs., laboratory 3 hrs., field trip) Not open for credit to students with prior credit in GEOL 322.
