MUS 387 - Foundations in Elementary General Music Education

(2 units)

Prerequisites: Music Education major with upper-division standing, or Post-Bacc, or consent of instructor.
Examines established approaches (Orff, Kodály, Dalcroze, Gordon) to develop musical and aesthetic sensitivities in children through active music making. Students create vocal, instrumental, and listening experiences appropriate for use in grades K-6. A 10-hour lab experience accompanies the class.
