MUS 518 - Seminar in Jazz Analysis

Prerequisite: Passing score on the Jazz Theory Placement Test or remedial work as prescribed by the Director of Jazz Studies.
Addresses the composition and analysis of jazz styles ranging from ragtime to modern jazz. Also includes notation, chord construction, chord/scale relationships, functional harmony and aural analysis.
