LING 533 - Ethnography of Communication (3 units)
Prerequisite: Graduate standing. Study of talk and other forms of communication from an ethnographic perspective. Emphasizes relevant methods and theories. Major topics presented include: language socialization, genres of speaking, intercultural communication, speech styles, strategic uses of language, and literacy.
Letter grade only (A-F). Same course as ANTH 530 . Not open for credit to students with credit in ANTH 530 .
