MAE 673 - Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity

Prerequisite: MAE 567 with a grade of “C” or better. Mechanical Engineering MS, Aerospace Engineering MS, or Engineering MS students only.
Equations of the mechanics of elastic bodies. Plane problem. Bending, torsion, and extension of Prismatic Bodies. Three-dimensional problem. Propagation of waves in elastic media. Approximate methods. Theory of plasticity.
Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture-problems 3 hours)
