HIST 345 - Comparative Genocide (3 units)
Prerequisites: GE Foundation requirements, one or more Exploration courses, and upper-division standing. Explores the modern phenomenon of mass killings of targeted populations in order to achieve a particular demographic, political, or cultural goal. Examines a series of case studies - including the Armenian Genocide, the Holocaust, Cambodia, and Rwanda - to understand not only how and why genocides occur, but also to look at the possibilities of preventative action.
