ART 318 - TYPE II: Intermediate Typography

(3 units)

Prerequisites: For Art Majors: ART 130 , ART 131 , ART 181 , ART 184 , ART 223 ; ART 132 , ART 241 , ART 270  or ART 287 ; AH 111A , AH 111B  or consent of instructor. For Design Majors: DESN 120A , DESN 132A , and ART 223 . For Graphic Design Minors: ART 223 .
Focus on the compositional use of type and its relationship to issues of visual hierarchy, readability and page structure. Students continue their exploration of typography as an expressive visual form.

Letter grade only (A-F). Student-owned laptop computer is required. See School website for current hardware and software specifications. (6 hrs. lab.).
