NRSG 406 - Population Health (5 units)
Prerequisites: NRSG 306, NRSG 309, NRSG 314, or consent of instructor. Focuses on providing registered nurses the skills and knowledge to improve outcomes for entire communities through population-based assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. This includes the nursing care of individuals and families, communities, and health care systems. Emphasis on holistic care, health equity, prevention, leadership and collaboration, epidemiology, and evidence-based practice. Family and community violence and disaster preparedness/response are addressed. This course includes 90 hours of clinical.
Letter grade only (A-F). Course fee may be required. (Lecture discussion 3 hours, 6 hours lab) Not repeatable for credit.
