MAE 409A - Finite Element Methods I

Prerequisite(s): MAE 305 and MAE 373 with a “C” or better. Engineering majors only. Exclude Freshmen.
Finite element methods for linear beam and truss elements. Systems of ordinary differential equations in finite element formulation. Static and dynamic analysis of complex structures with lab activities using current FE software with validation using experimental data.

Letter grade only (A-F). (Lecture-problems 2 hours, Laboratory 3 hours). Same course as MAE 409AH Not open for credit to students with credit in: MAE 409AH.
