HIST 381B - I Love The 90s: The US and World in the 1990s (3 units)
Prerequisite(s): GE Foundation requirements. This course examines the “nineties” (1989-2001) from a historical perspective, covering key events in both US and World History. Topics include the fall of the Berlin Wall and the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), the First Gulf War, wars in Rwanda, Bosnia, and Kosovo, deindustrialization and the end of welfare, financial crisis in Asia, Third Wave feminism, LGBTQ+ liberation, the emergence of the World Wide Web and, finally, the War on Terror.
Both grading options. Not repeatable for credit.
