LING 363 - Implications of Human Language (3 units)
Prerequisite: Students must have scored 11 or higher on the GWAR Placement Examination or completed the necessary portfolio course that is a prerequisites for a GWAR Writing Intensive Capstone. Examines human language from the perspectives of linguistics, psychology, and communicative disorders. Topics include relationships between languages of the world, language acquisition, and the social meaning of language and dialect differences. The implications of language for the individual and her/his social experience are experienced through the methodologies of these disciplines.
