MAE 795 - Advanced Directed Studies (4 units)
Prerequisites: Master of Science degree or equivalent and formally admitted to the Ph.D. program in Engineering and Computational Mathematics. Exploration of theoretical and experimental (if applicable) engineering problems in great depth with an emphasis on mathematical modeling and analysis. Students must present the findings in a formal report.
Letter grade only (A-F). Consultation with the respective program’s graduate advisor and permission of faculty supervisor are required. Submission of an Agreement for Independent Study form as a contract for the project and an Advanced Directed Studies permission form are required each semester of enrollment. May be repeated to a maximum of 8 units in different semesters.
