AFRS 155 - African American Music

Prerequisite/Corequisite: One GE Foundation course.

Nontechnical survey of African American music. Some attention is given to the impact of social movements on the musician and the music produced. Gospel, jazz and well-known derivatives will be highlighted.

Both grading options.
